Gretzky played 20 seasons in the NHL for four teams from 1979-1999 and is generally regarded as the greatest ice hockey player ever. He is the leading career points scorer and leading assist producer in NHL history. He is the only NHL player to score over 200 points in one season, a feat he accomplished four times. He also scored more than 100 points in 15 seasons. He won the Stanley Cup four times with the Edmonton Oilers and at the time of his retiral in 1999 he held 61 NHL records, 40 regular season records, 15 play-off records and six All-Star records.
