Strauss plays county cricket for Middlesex and is captain of England's Test cricket team. He captained England to a 2-1 victory in the 2009 Ashes series, scoring a total of 474 runs, more than any other player on either side. Strauss again captained England to victory in the 2010/11 Ashes series in Australia, becoming only the third England cricket captain to win the Ashes both home and away.
